PCTRAN’s transient results are similar but less significant as Westinghouse LOFTRAN’s. One SG-PORV opening starts SG secondary side depressurization that induces primary cooldown. PCTRAN’s SG-PORV opened in the A-loop so that the A-SG pressure reduction rate is faster than the B intact loop. LOFTRAN apparently has modeled the two SG’s pressure reduction rate identically. After MSIV closure on low-SG pressure, the intact loop is isolated while the faulted loop continues to cooldown. The primary CMT is initiated at low T-cold 500ºC “S” signal. PCTRAN does not reach return-to-criticality.
