The positive reactivity insertion of $ 0.06 in 180 seconds is equal to 0.06 x beta = .0036 dk/k assuming beta effective = 0.06. We have initiated a malfunction of rod withdrawal of 0.36% dk/k in 180 seconds. It triggers a high flux scram at 118%.
We have used Westinghouse’s turbine header pressure control diagram for PCTRAN’s control system. For a higher unit power, the header pressure set point is lower. This is apparently different from the US EPR since the steam pressure goes up for higher power. It affects the reactor coolant hot leg and cold leg temperatures, too.
